India’s team a bag full of surprises at the Cycling event in Commonwealth Games 2018

Cycling at the Commonwealth Games has been dominated by Australia over the years, with England coming a distant second. The two countries have racked up over 300 of the 550 medals which have been up for offer over the years.

This time around, 26 gold medals would be up for grabs in the Games. Anna Meares Velodrome (track cycling), Nerang National Park (mountain biking) and Currumbin Beachfront (road cycling) are the three venues were these events wold be held.

India have named a 9-member team for the Gold Coast, which includes 5 women and 4 men. He team seemed happy about performing well at the Games.

“We’ve announced our best team for Commonwealth Games 2018 where we are expecting a good show from our cyclists. We don’t have a good track record in Commonwealth Games so far but this year our cyclists are in good shape and they will give a good competition to the leading countries like England, Australia and others,” Onkar Singh, secretary general of CFI, said.
