India’s Lawn Bowls team to just make up the numbers at CWG 2018March 23, 2018
Lawn Bowls is one of the core sports at the Commonwealth Games. It had been first included in 1930 and has been included in each of the editions except 1966. England, South Africa and Scotland have dominated the sport winning almost all the gold medals within them.
India has performed poorly at the sport, qualifying in only some of the editions. This year, the Indian contingent would be represented by 10 athletes, 5 men and 5 women. They would be taking part in the singles, pairs, triples and fours competitions.
The event is scheduled to take place in Broadbeach Bowls Club from 5th to 13th April, 2018. A total of 28 countries would be taking part in the competition. India would consider itself lucky if it manages to go past the group stage.
A total of 10 medals are on offer at this event at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.
