Indian shuttlers — Sameer Verma, Pranaav Jerry Chopra/Sikki Reddy, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty — made it to three finals in the Hyderabad Open BWF Tour Super 100 tournament at the GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium here on Saturday.

Top seed Sameer rallied after losing the first game to beat his senior practice partner RMV Gurusaidutt 16-21, 21-15, 21-11. Sameer was slow off the blocks in the first game. Guru surged ahead 15-6 even before Sameer could settle down. But Sameer got his range in the second part of the game, he erased the deficit with a nine-point burst. However, Guru kept his nerves and won the game.

But from the second, it was Sameer who took control of the situation. He troubled Guru with down the line smashes and deceptive work near the net. From 8-8, Sameer surged ahead and stayed well clear of Guru. It was no different in the third game as Sameer broke free from 8-8 to 17-8 before winning the game at 21-11.

Sameer will face Joo Ven Soong in the final. The unseeded Malaysian downed seventh seed Firman Abdul Kholik of Indonesia 21-17, 21-14 in the other last four clash. Sameer enjoys a 2-0 win-loss record against Soong.
