Indian shooting followers found something to celebrate at the ISSF World Cup as India found itself on the top of the medal tally on Wednesday. The 10 days long event came to a close with India on four gold, one silver and four bronze medals for a total of nine medals in Guadalajara, Mexico. This is the country’s best ever performance at the World Cup.

It also marked the first time India had topped an international shooting event. Shahzar Rizvi, Manu Bhaker, Akhil Sheoran, Om Prakash Mitharval, Anjum Moudgil and Mehuli Ghosh have made the country proud by bagging medals in their respective categories. Shahzar Rizvi even set a new world record with 242.3 points in the 10m Air Pistol Men event.

The Indian team would be looking to take this form to the Commonwealth Games in Australia.
