India are scheduled to play against China later in the month for their Davis Cup tie. And the Indians will be fielding a full strength squad after almost a year when it faced Uzbekistan in 2017. Leander Paes is deservedly back in the mix. But a record, incidentally awaits him as well. The 44-year- old could become the first player to win 43 Davis Cup ties if he is able to win the doubles tie in the Asia/Oceania Group I encounter versus China.

The team for this encounter includes Yuki Bhambri, Ramkumar Ramanathan, Sumit Nagal, Bopanna and Paes apart from including left-handed Divij Sharan as a reserve member in the side. "We have three best singles players in the team and three best doubles players. Having Leander and Rohan in the team is our best chance to get the doubles point," coach Zeeshan Ali said.

The personal differences between Paes and Bopanna are well known, however the team would be hoping to set aside all these differences. It is a matter of joy for India that it is fielding a full strength squad by including the best players for each format.
