India have qualified for the World Group play-offs for the fourth straight year. They lost to Serbia in 2014, Czech Republic in 2015 and Spain in 2016 in previous three years, all of which held at home.
India will play Canada in an away Davis Cup World Group Play-offs tie in September. The draw for the World Group Play-offs was held in London today and the tie will be held from September 15-17. India had made it to the World Group Play-offs after a 4-1 win over Uzbekistan last weekend.

Canada are currently ranked 16 in the ITF rankings and India are two rungs below them.

Canada have Milos Raonic, who is currently ranked 6th in the world, and Vasek Popisil as the two top singles players in the team.

India have qualified for the World Group play-offs for the fourth straight year. They lost to Serbia in 2014, Czech Republic in 2015 and Spain in 2016 in previous three years, all of which held at home.

This time India made it to the play-offs with a 4-1 win over Uzbekistan which was the first for the team under non-playing captain Mahesh Bhupathi.

Leander Paes was dropped from the team as Bhupathi went into the tie with Rohan Bopanna as the sole doubles specialist. This was the first time Paes was dropped in his 27 long years in Davis Cup.

Canada were relegated to play-offs after their 2-3 loss to Great Britain 2-3 in the World Group first Round in February.
