India dominates Asian Youth Chess Championships winning 14 Gold medals

India topped the medals tally at the Asian Youth Chess Championships which were organised in Chiangmai, Thailand. A total of 90 players represented the nation with 35 winning medals. The competition was held in 3 formats- Rapid, Classical and Blitz. 12-year-old IM Gukesh D. secured Gold in all three formats.
Next in the list was Vietnam with 21 medals and China was third with 14 medals at the Championships. The competition was held in 5 categories- U10, U12, U14, U16, U18 for both boys and girls.
