Hyderabad welcomed home after successful Asian Championships

Hyderabad shooters who performed exceptionally well at the Asian Shooting Championship in Doha, Qatar, returned home to a warm welcome on 14th Nov.

Telangana Sports Minister V. Srinivas Goud, Sports Authority of Telangana State chairman Allipuram Venkateshwar Reddy, family and friends of the shooters were among those who received the medallists at the Rajiv Gandhi International airport.

Esha Singh and Dhanush Srikanth won three gold medals each while Abid Ali Khan won a bronze and the team gold.

Esha got the yellow metal in the Individual, Team and Mixed events of the 10-metre Air Pistol junior women’s category while Dhanush secured the title in the Individual, Team and Mixed events in the junior men’s 10-metre air rifle section.

In another event Abid won two medals. He settled for a bronze in the individual and secured the team gold in 50-metre rifle prone event in the junior men’s category.

Ayush Rudraraju got the team gold in the junior men’s clay pigeon skeet while Kynan Chenai secured the team silver in the clay pigeon trap shooting for men.

Amit Sanghi, President of the Telangana Rifle Association, congratulated and appreciated winners from Telangana State representing India at the Championship.
