Cricket:
Sachin Tendulkar has been inducted into the International Cricket Council’s Hall of Fame alongside former South African pacer Allan Donald. Joining Tendulkar and Donald in the Hall of Fame was Australia’s two-time women’s World Cup-winner Cathryn Fitzpatrick.

Zimbabwe cricket association: The ICC on Thursday suspended Zimbabwe Cricket with immediate effect violation of the global body’s constitution which doesn’t allow any government intervention.

Chess: India got its 64th Chess Grandmaster on Thursday as Prithu Gupta crossed the 2500-mark. The youngster beat IM Lev Yankelevich in the fifth round of the Portuguese League 2019 to cross the Elo threshold.

Golf:
Junior World Golf Championship: 14-year-old Arjun Bhati wins junior World Golf Championships 2019 by defeating Taiwan’s Jeremy Chen during the three-day final match.

Subhankar Sharma, the lone Indian to qualify for the 148th Open Championship, will be teeing it up at the iconic Royal Portrush Club, Golf’s oldest major championship.

Table Tennis:
Commonwealth TT Championship; Indian men and women were the first to book their semifinal slots after winning their Super Eights group matches in the 21st Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium.

Badminton:
Indonesia Open Super 1000: PV Sindhu is the sole Indian left in the tournament and she will now face arch rival Nozomi Okuhara for a spot in the Semi-Final. It would be PV’s 15th meeting with Okuhara at Indonesia 2019, in which both of them share head to head record by 7-7.

Football:
Intercontinental Cup; Tajikistan and North Korea to fight out in Intercontinental Cup final at Ahmedabad. Going by form, North Korea will have slight advantage as they beat Tajikistan 1-0 in the league stages.

The Durand Cup, World’s third oldest and Asia’s oldest football tournament, returns after a short gap of three years to entertain the football lovers of the Nation. The “City of Joy”, Kolkata will host the three week long tournament, scheduled between 02 to 24 Aug 2019.
