Badminton:
Indonesian Open Super 1000: Ace shuttler PV Sindhu defeats European Games Champion Mia Blichfeldt in three games ( 21-14, 17-21, 21-11) to reach the quarterfinals of Indonesian Open Super 1000.

Athletics:
The star sprinter Hima Das claimed her fourth gold of the season, as she won the 200m event at the Velka Cena Memorial Meet in Czech Republic. Hima Das won the race in 23.25 seconds.

IAAF: Indian track and field legend PT Usha has been nominated for the International Association of Athletics Federation’s ‘Veteran Pin’ for her outstanding service to the sport.

Table Tennis:
Commonwealth Championship: India got a thumping start to their campaign at the 21st Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships in Cuttack. In teams’ events, both the men’s and women’s teams topped their groups to qualify for the Super Eight stage on Wednesday. Men and women’s team defeated Scotland and South Africa respectively with the scoreline of 3-0.

Shooting:
ISSF Junior World Cup: India’s youngest National Champion Esha Singh clinched her maiden international medal as she won silver in women’s 10m air pistol event at ISSF Junior World Cup, Germany. She is 14 years old.

Weightlifting:
India returned from Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships with a rich tally of 35 medals in the youth, junior and senior weight categories.

Tennis:
Last year’s finalist Ramkumar Ramanathan out of Tennis Hall of Fame, Newport ATP in second round.

Football:
FIFA WC Qualifiers: India has been grouped alongside Oman, Afghanistan, Qatar and Bangladesh in the draw for Asian qualifiers.
