SOURABH THROUGH TO SEMIS: Sourabh Verma defeats second seed HS Prannoy 21-19,23-21 in 50 minutes to reach the semifinals of the US Open Super 300.

Football
The Indian women team are now ranked 11th in Asia, with Australia topping the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Women’s team jumped from 63 to 57th place in the latest FIFA ranking.

Gothia Cup: This year, 80 nations are participating in the International Football Tournament ‘Gothia Cup’ and India is represented by the Under-15 girls Nagaland team.

Wrestling

India wins 3 Gold & 1 Bronze on Day 2 of the Yasar Dogu, Ranking Series Tournament.

Weightlifting
Ajay Singh Wins Gold and Creates New Commonwealth Record in the clean and jerk category at the ongoing Commonwealth Championships. The 22 year old, who is competing in the 81kg category, also smashed the national record in the clean and jerk event by lifting more than double his body weight (190kg) to score vital points at the Olympic qualifying event.

Tennis:
Wimbledon: Roger Federer defeated Rafael Nadal in Semi-Final of the Wimbledon to set the clash with Novak Djokovic in the final. This was 40th meeting between the two of the all time Greats. This would be Roger’s 31st Grand Slam final and record 12th Wimbledon final
