Green Land school prevails at Karate ChampionshipDecember 10, 2019, Jalandhar, Ludhiana
Students of Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar bypass branch, overpowered their opponents, securing as many as 45 medals, including 24 gold, 17 silver and four bronze medals in the Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex Karate Championship held on December 7 and 8.
The championship was organised by Darshan Academy, Bhamian Kalan, wherein students (boys and girls U-14, 17 and 19) from different schools took part.
Green Land School stamped its superiority in the boys’ section as its students made a clean sweep, clinching top honours in all three age groups. Besides, girl students came out triumphant in the U-17 category in addition to finishing as runners-up in the girls U-14 section and as second runners-up in the U-19 group.
- Gold medals winners (U-14): Mohit Kumar (below 25-kg), Sahil Nayyar (below 30-kg), Shivam (plus 60-kg), Siya (below 22-kg), Rajat Kaushik (below 45-kg) and Rajat Kaushik (below-45 kg).
- Gold medals winners (U-17): Avneet Choudhary (below 45-kg), Nitin Kumar Verma (below 54-kg), Anubhav Sharma (below 58-kg), Raghav Gupta (below 62-kg), Naman Chaichi (below 70-kg), Manav Chauhan (below 74-kg), Rachit Sharma (below 78-kg), Tulsi Raj (below 82-kg), Ritik Kumar (plus 82-kg), Ashima Chadha (below 36-kg), Bhavya Gola (below 48-kg) and Riya (below 56-kg).
