Green land boys wins Gold in District Chess Championship

Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar bypass branch, stamped its supremacy, winning a gold medal in the boys’ section in the District Schools Chess Competition organised by the Education Department at Sri Guru Hargobind Public School, Thakarwal village in Ludhiana.
Jasmeet Singh, Damanpal Singh and Aryan represented Green Land School team and fetched top honours. In the semifinal, Green Land School prevailed over BCM Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh Road branch, 2-1 in which Jasmeet and Damanpal wrapped up their matches to steer their side to the final. In the final, Green Land School, Jalandhar bypass branch, beat Green Land Convent School, Sector 32, Chandigarh Road, 2-1 to emerge as champions.
Damanpal outplayed Shivam Kanda while Aryan outperformed Shubham to fashion their team’s title victory.
Jasmeet Singh and Damanpal Singh will represent Ludhiana at the state level.
