Gauri Sheoran wins Gold in World University Shooting ChampionshipMarch 20, 2018
Gauri Sheoran was the lone Indian to win Gold at the World University Shooting Championship which concluded in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday. She won the Gold in the 25m pistol event, scoring 37 points in the final- 4 more than Wang X of China. The other two golds that came India’s way were in team events. Gauri hails from Bhiwani and is following in the footsteps of her brother Vishwajeet Singh who is also an international competitor in shooting.
With this medal, India finished third on the medal tally with 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze. The team was behind Italy who topped the medals tally from among 24 teams with five gold, five silver and a bronze, while Korea was second with four gold, a silver and five bronze.
