FC Kohlapur win 2-0 over SAI-STC Cuttack

SAI-STC taste defeat against FC Kohlapur in the Indian Women’s league. The game ended in 2-0 score in favour of FC Kohlapur. The match was being played in the Guru Nanak Stadium on Thursday.
Renu and Kamala Devi brought the Kohlapur side ahead by scoring the goals.
SAI defender Jyoti Kumari was awarded the “Player of the Match” for her wall like defence on the field.
The Kohlapur side showed dominance from the start with a long spell of possession and the Kohlapur skipper put one in the back of the net from outside the box in the 7th minute giving an early start to the Maharashtra side.
The lead was doubled in the 10th minute by Renu when she blasted a screamer from long range.
The SAI keeper Subha Patra had no chance of stopping the ball from entering the goal, The Kohlapur defence was the unbreakable backbone to the team giving a lot of confidence to the team.
With this win, Kolhapur climbed over SAI to third place on the table with seven points, but it was not enough for them to make it to the semifinals.
