Faridabad’s boxers shines at Nationals, wins 5 medals

The national school games which is being held at Delhi’s Chhatrasal stadium, saw boxers from Faridabad came at the top as they claimed 5 medals at the championship.
All in all, Faridabad representatives claimed 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze at the NSG. Players were congratulated and received a huge welcome after their arrival.
These games happened between 19th to 24th November.
In 63Kg weight category, Urvashi clinched the Gold medal. Urvashi is the 12th class student of Shaheed Smarak Senior Secondary School.
In 48-50Kg weight category Tanisha Lamba, who is a class 11th student of NTPC DAV school won silver at the NSG. In 42-44Kg weight category another NTPC DAV school girl showed her potential as Kashish Mehta, a class 9th student won Bronze.
In 44-46Kg weight category Mehak, a class 10th student of Sector-14 DAV college won Bronze.
In Under-19 age category Robin won Bronze in 49Kg weight category.
Their trainer Rajeev Godara, National Champion Mukesh and Anil confirmed that medalist at these NSG are also selected for next year’s Khelo India which is all set to be held in January at Guwahati. The medalists at Khelo India will get High level training further at the course and will be awarded with 5 Lakh rupees.
