Dwimalu FC marches forward; Sainik School wins title

Local outfit Dwimalu FC today stunned Sutunga FC of Meghalaya 3-1 to enter the quarterfinals of the ongoing 26th Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma Gold Cup Football Tournament played at the Udalguri Stadium.
In the first half, Dwimalu striker Dwimalu Brahma opened the team’s account in the third minute but Mizar Gulung drew parity in the 17th minute. Before the break, Musukha Basumatary put the local team 2-1 ahead in the 29th minute.
After changing over it was Musukha Basumatary of Dwimalu FC who netted his second in the 79th minute to make the scoreline 3-1.
Today’s match: Eden FC vs Global Academy of Gossaigaon.
And in Goalpara, Sainik School Goalpara created history by winning the CBSE (Cluster I) East Zone Football Championship (boys U-17) at the Gauhati University playground in Jalukbari. Sainik School Goalpara defeated Eden Public School, Manipur 3-0 in the final.
Cadet Rinku Deka who scored nine goals in the tournament won the highest scorer trophy while Arun Sonar was adjudged as the best player of the tournament.
