Doubles Category challenges sparks Day 3 of ‘YoGems Badminton Championship 2018’

Day 3 of ‘YoGems Badminton Championship 2018’ created lots of excitement amongst spectators with action packed matches between Doubles pairs of different age categories in both Boys & Girls line-up.

Boys Under 13 Doubles, Under 15 Doubles and Under 17 Doubles were main highlights of the day. Girls Under 13 Doubles, Under 15 Doubles and scheduled Singles matches were also lined-up during the day.

In Boys U17 Single category matches Gurubaksh Saini wins match against Ytharth Madaan with 15-10 15-10 scoreline. Ayan Basu wins tough battle against Rohan Chopra with 12-15 15-13 15-13 points, Aman Singh wins straight set against Udayveer with 15-3 15-7 scoreline, Sarthak Garg clinched win against Aryan Choudhary with 15-0 15-4 scoreline, Siddharth Modi wins match against Pranav Makkar with 15-7 6-15 and 15-13 scoreline and Akash Grewal wins easy match against Karan Saini with 15-4 15-3 points.

In the quarterfinal matches of Girls U 17, Vrinda Rana wins spot in semifinal with 15-10 15-8 victory, Shagunpreet Kaur wins match against Mannat Saini with 15-9 15-3 scoreline, Nimanpreet wins tough battle against Rijul Saini with 15-14 12-15 and 15-14 scoreline and Himanshi Dhingra wins match against Muskan Sharma with 15-14 15-11 scoreline.

The Quarter Final match of Girls Doubles U 15 age category named Nikita Pawar and Vineeta Panchal winning pair against Minakshi Mittal and garima Garg with 15-6 15-3 points.

In the Boys U17 category round of 32 matches, pair of Shivam Singla and Keshav Choudhary wins match against Chaitanya Dua and Risshab Singla with 15-5 15-6 scoreline, Chirag Goyal and Sarthak Katoch along with Tushar Raghav and Anant Bhardwaj progresses to the next level with Walkover. Quarterfinal matches of Boys Doubles U17 category glorified Sarthak and Arjun Parkarsh against Chirag and Sarthak Katoch with 15-4 15-12 scoreline, Akash Grewal and Ayush Singh beats Tushar Raghav and Anant Bhardwaj with 15-5 15-6 scoreline.

In Girls U15 Doubles Quarterfinal match Rijul Saini and Shagunpreet Kaur wins match against Ishu and Tanu Malik with 15-12 15-14 scoreline. Rakshita and Alisha reached semif-final stage with Walkover advantage.

In Boys U15 Doubles Quarter-Final matches Shivansh Kaushik and Bhagarv wins match against Harshit Thakur and Pranit Ajji with 15-11 15-8 scoreline, Adhiraj Jain and Udayveer wins match against Bhavya Gupta and Shivoy Gogia with 15-4 15-8.

In Boys U-13 Doubles matches Krishna Sharma and Aarin Verma wins match against Lakshya Chopra and Mohit with 15-7 15-12 points and Ishmeet Singh and Ayushman Bhati wins match against Amrinder Singh and Karan Sangwan with 15-9 15-2 scoreline.

Semi-final and Final matches of all age categories will start from 8am tomorrow. Former Indian Badminton Player and Arjuna Award Recipient Kanwal Thakar Singh will be the chief guest of closing ceremony of YoGems Badminton Championship 2018. Prizes will be distributed amongst all the winners and runner-up of different age categories at 01.30pm.
