Doraha School to represent Punjab in Basketball Nationals

The U-17 boys’ basketball team of Doraha Public School have emerged winners of the 18th Cluster Basketball Championship conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) at CT Public School in Jalandhar.

The team members of this winning team included Shahbaj Jhamaini, Manvir Singh, Prabhjot Singh, Karanveer Singh, Sukhpreet Singh, Minaz, Manraj Singh, Harsh Lakhotra.

This team won six straight matches in the championship. In the finals, the school faced the team from BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana, and defeated it by a score of 46-34. The boys will now participate in the CBSE National Basketball Championship to be held in Indore in November.

School director Tapvir Singh and principal Monica Sarwal said it was a matter of pride for the institution and wished them luck for the nationals. They also congratulated Devinder Singh, school basketball coach, for his mentorship and guidance.
