District Open Table Tennis Championship concludes

Gourav Sharma and Pratibha won respective senior boys and girls titles of the District Udhampur Open Table Tennis Championship organised by District Table Tennis Association Udhampur in collaboration with J&K Sports Council under the aegis of J&K Table Tennis Association, which concluded at Indoor Sports Hall Subash Stadium, here on Monday. In senior boys final, Gourav Sharma beat Harshit by 3-1 while Pratibha beat Siya Sharma by 3-2 in senior girls final. In the closing ceremony, former MLA, Balwant Singh Mankotia was the Chief Guest and Preeti Khajuria and S.E Kuldee Badyal were the Guests of Honour.

Earlier, General Secretary of the District Association, Tarun presented welcome address. He appreciated the young talent of district Udhampur and said that District Association is working continuously to uplift the talent of youngsters.

Around 120 participants from every nook and corner of the district were participated in the championship.

The Chief Guest conveyed his best wishes to all the players and the members of the association.

Other final results

Sub Junior Boys: Sourav Sharma beat Madhav Sharma by 3-2. Junior Boys: Madhav Sharma beat Prince Gupta by 3-2. Junior Girls: Sonali Rajput beat Palak Khajuria by 3-1.
Today’s matches were officiated by Maninder Singh, Varun Gupta, Sourav Sharma and Vipin.
Vinod Kumar Baru (President), Tarun General Secretary, Prikshit Khajuria (Treasurer), Ankit Sharma (Joint Secretary), Akash Sharma Organising Secretary, Sunny Sharma Vice President of the association besides Akhil Bandral, Manager Sports Council Shaktish Chopra, Karun Magotra, Sanjeev Verma and Sanjay Sharma were also present.
Later, the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour gave away prizes to winner and runner-up players.
