District-level (U-18) games begin today

The District-Level Games for Boys and Girls (U-18) to be organised by the Punjab Sports Department will begin here on Tuesday. The three-day tournament (from July 30 to August 1) is being held under the Tandrust Punjab Mission and to celebrate the 550th Guru Nanak Dev Parkash Purb.
Competition in as many as 17 sports disciplines will be conducted at different venues in Ludhiana city besides Samrala. The disciplines include athletics, basketball, badminton, football, table tennis and weightlifting at Guru Nanak Stadium.
Likewise, competition in roller skating will be held at the Leisure Valley Skating Rink in Sarabha Nagar and swimming at the Municipal Corporation (MC) Pool near Rakh Bagh while competition in boxing will be held at Samrala.
