District-Level (U-14) Games, second day: Recap

On the second and penultimate day of the District-Level (U-14) Games for Boys and Girls being organised by the Punjab Sports Department under the Tandrust Punjab campaign, players battled it out in different sport disciplines here on Wednesday.
In the girls’ section (kabaddi), Kotla Samaspur village edged out Bassian village 21-17 and Government Senior Secondary School, Aassi Kalan, thrashed HMV Convent School 21-4 to qualify for the final.
In athletics, Prabhnoor Singh of Bal Bharti Public School, Ludhiana emerged winner in the long jump event in the boys’ category while Himanshu from BSRS secured second position and Chirayu of Pece Public School, Mullanpur, finished third.
In the girls’ section (long jump), Manpreet Kaur of Bal Bharti Public School, Ludhiana, came out triumphant whereas her school mate Amber and Arshpreet Kaur from Guru Nanak Public School, Bassian, secured second and third positions, respectively.
In shot-put event, Khushkaran Singh of Guru Nanak Public School, Bassian, Gurjeet Singh of Peace Public School, Mullanpur, and Jaskaran Singh of Guru Nanak Public School, Bassian, secured first three positions while in the girls’ section, Simranjot Kaur of Sacred Heart Convent School, Ludhiana, romped home victorious followed by Jashanpreet Kaur of Indo Canadian International School, Bassian, at the second spot while Kashvi Rana of Bal Bharti Public School, Ludhiana, secured third position.
