District level sporting tournaments to be held from August: SGFI

School Federation of India confirmed that district and cluster level tournaments will be held from the first week of August. Federation also added Pre Subroto Cup (Football) and Pre Nehru Cup (Hockey) will start from next week.
The teams who will perform well in the upcoming competition will get the chance to participate in the state level tournament at the end of July in Fatehabad. To finalize this plan, all Sports officers from the Department of education attended an official meeting at Panchkula on Tuesday.
Meeting was headed by the senior official of sports department, Rakesh Gupta. He told because of Vidhan Sabha elections, the sports tournament is being held one month earlier this time around.
Winners of pre Subroto and Nehru cup will take part in state tournament which will take place in Fatehabad from 25th to 27th of July. Archery and Yoga will also took place in the above tournament.
This information was provided by District sports official Budhiraaj Dhankar. He further added that players from 14-19 year of age can take part in this tournament.
