Day of defeats for India at French Open

The second seeds in the French Open men’s doubles draw Oliver Marach of Austria and Mate Pavic of Croatia put out the all-Indian combine of Yuki Bhambri and Divij Sharan in a second-round clash. Marach and Pavic won 7-5, 6-3 in 77 minutes.
Sharan later teamed with Japan’s Shuko Aoyama in the mixed-doubles event, where the Indo-Japanese duo fell to Slovakia’s Katerina Srebotnik and Mexico’s Santiago Gonzalez 6-2, 3-6, 5-10 in 65 minutes.
It wasn’t a good day for Indians at Roland Garros with the seventh-seeds in the mixed doubles, India’s Rohan Bopanna and Hungary’s Timea Babos going down 2-6, 3-6 to Aussie John Peers and China’s Shuai Zhang in under an hour.
