Chirag to represent UP in National junior Badminton championship

Chirag Seth is all set to represent state of Uttar Pradesh at 44th National Junior Badminton Championship. This tournament will be held in Andhra Pradesh’s Raja Mundari Sports Complex in December. This selection was made after his performance in Saharanpur, Jhansi and Moradabad, U-19 singles matches. Chirag Seth recently won silver in UP State Badminton championship which was held in Moradabad from 8th to 12th November.
In this competition’s quarter-finals Chirag defeated top ranked Aaditya Raj Gupta from Prayagraj by 21-14, 21-10. In Semi final he defeated Ashwini SIngh of Babu Banarasi Das Lucknow by 25-23, 21-10. In final Chirag lost to Rajan Yadav of Babu Banarasi Das Lucknow who belongs to Azamgarh by 14-21, 12-21. Despite this loss, Chirag was able to confirm his place in Nationals because of his consistency in previous other tournaments.
Beside Chirag, gold medalist Rajan Yadav also got quota for Nationals. All in all, only two players from UP- Rajan Yadav and Chirag Seth were selected for national junior badminton championship. Earlier, Chirag has also won Gold in Saharanpur U-19 state badminton championship. And in Jhansi, he went until the QF.
