Child Prodigy Mahima Attreya could make India’s squad for the Jakarta Asian Games

The Asian Games will be held in Jakarta from 18 th August to 2 nd September 2018. Modern pentathlon is a new event which will be introduced this time around. It is a test of skill, stamina and will power. A team of 4 women will represent the country in this sport at the Games.

Mahima Attreya, a resident of Ghaziabad and former student of Uttam School for Girls is a prime contender to bag a spot in the contingent. As a 9-year- old, Mahima had set a record by swimming 38 kilometres non-stop in a swimming pool in Ghaziabad in 2007. The national trials will be held in Karnal from 15th April to 8 th June.
