Match 15: Mumbai Indians (MI) v/s Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

CSK won the toss and decided to bowl first. Whereas MI gave the score of 171 to chase. They made 170/5 in 20 overs. CSK lose the match by just 37 runs. They made 133/8 in 20 overs. This was the first match of the season which Chennai lose and Indians’ second win in 4 games this season as they made corrections to the mistakes from the past and produced an all-round show to outclass the defending champions.

Suryakumar Yadav played a brilliant knock of 59 runs in 43 balls to put MI in cruise control. He paced his innings well and slammed 8 fours and 1 six en-route his knock. He added 62 runs for the 4th wicket with Krunal Pandya, who also played a crucial knock of 42 runs off 32 balls.

Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard went bonkers towards the end of the MI innings to slam the CSK bowlers all around the park as they propelled their team to a challenging total. While Hardik slammed 25 off 8 balls, Pollard scored 17 runs off 7 deliveries. Suresh Raina was dismissed on 16 off 15 deliveries after Kieron Pollard pulled off an absolute stunner to send the left-hander packing.

MS Dhoni struggled to find his rhythm as Hardik Pandya dismissed after 12 off 21 balls and he also did not get support from the lower-middle order. Hardik and Lasith Malinga picked three wickets apiece to run through the CSK batting line-up.
