Chandigarh swimmers will rock in World University Games from July 3 to 14 in Italy

Three Chandigarh swimmers will we representing India as Indian aquatics team in 30th Summer Universiade the World University Games which will be held in Napoli, Italy from July 3 to 14. All the 3 swimmers train at Panjab University under coach Gurcharan Singh. The 3 day trials to select the Indian team concluded on April 10 at Visvesvaraya Technological University, Karnataka.
In men’s category Sahil Chopra international swimmer and Siddhanth Sejwal and in women’s category Chahat Arora a gold medalist in the 2015 National Games were selected. Chopra studied at Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26, Sejwal is a student of Punjab University Campus and Chahat studied at MCM DAV College, Sector 36.

Gurcharan said: “It’s a great honour for our centre. Chopra and Chahat have already represented the nation in many international championships, while Sejwal will make his international debut in this tournament. All three are promising swimmers and performed well in the inter-college/inter-university championships.”
