CBSE North Zone Swimming: Noida’s swimmers storms at topOctober 16, 2019, Meerut, Noida, Greater Noida, Baghpat, Ghaziabad
In a recently concluded CBSE Inter School Swimming Competition- North Zone I, Kothari International School and DPS from Noida reign supreme as they won overall swimming championship in Boys
and girls categories respectively in Meerut.
But in overall Championship DPS Greater Noida proved just too much for the other schools as their students won hefty amount of medals in both Girls and Boys category at the event.
This swimming championship was held from October 12th to October 15th at Vidya Global School, Baghpat Road, Merrut. Event was attended by almost 100 plus participants which represented number of schools from northern states of India.
In individual Championship of boys Under 11, Arnav Tyagi of DPS Ghaziabad was declared winner after he won a staggering 3 Gold medals in 50 meter Backstroke, Freestyle and 200 meter individual medley. In girls Under11, Manya Gupta of Lotus Valley International School, Noida was declared overall individual champion as she won 3 gold medals in 50 Mtr ButterFly, Freestyle and 200 Mtr Individual Medley.
In individual Championship of boys Under 14, Kabeer Bawa of Step By Step School, Noida was declared winner after he won 3 Gold medals in 100 Mtr Freestyle, 200 Mt Individual Medley and 100 Mt Backstroke. In girls Under14, Suhani Jain of Step By Step School – Noida was declared overall individual champion as she won 2 gold in the 50M FreeStyle and BackStroke.
In individual Championship of boys Under 17, Sahil Panjwani of Lotus Valley International School, Noida was declared winner after he won 5 Gold medals in the 200 Mt Individual Medley, 50 Mt ButterFly, 200 Mt Freestyle, 100 Mt ButterFly and 100 Mt Freestyle.
In girls Under17, there was a tie between Disha Bhandari of Delhi Public School, Greater Noida and Arya Singh of Delhi Public School, Greater Noida as they both were declared joint overall individual champion in Under-17. Disha won 5 gold medals in 50 Mtr FreeStyle, 100 Mtr FreeStyle, 100 Mt ButterFly, 200 Mt Individual Medley and 50 Mt ButterFly. While Arya also won 5 Gold medals in 400 Mt Freestyle, 800 Mt FreeStyle, 200 Mt BackStroke, 50 Mt BackStroke and 100 Mt BackStroke.
In boys Under19, there was a tie between Shradul Singh of Kothari International School, Noida and Rishyant Singh of DAV Public School, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad as they both were declared joint overall individual champion in Under-19.Shradul won 4 Gold medals and 1 silver in 100 Mt BackStroke, 400 Mt FreeStyle, 200 Mt Individual Medley, 200 Mtr FreeStyle and 50 Mtr Back Stroke respectively. While Rishyant won 4 Gold medals in 50 Mt ButterFly, 100 Mtr ButterFly, 100 Mtr FreeStyle and 200 Mtr ButterFly.
In girls Under19, Tejal Verma of Delhi Public School, Noida was declared overall individual champion as she won 4 Gold medals in 200 Mt ButterFly, 50 Mt FreeStyle, 100 Mtr FreeStyle and 100 Mtr ButterFly categories.
