Australian Open: Osaka surges; Flawless Djokovic on Day 3

• The Serbian star, Novak Djokovic gave up just seven games against the world number 146, Japanese wildcard Tatsuma Ito in the 6-1, 6-4, 6-2 romp on Rod Laver Arena which lasted 95 minutes.
• Tennys Sandgren sent eighth seed Matteo Berrettini packing. Berrettini, slumped to defeat in a five-set marathon which finished 7-6 (9/7), 6-4, 4-6, 2-6, 7-5 in 3hrs 23 mins – the highest ranked seed to fall so far.
• The third seed Japanese, Naomi Osaka dealt better with the blustery Melbourne conditions to defeat China’s 42nd-ranked Zheng Saisai 6-2, 6-4.
• World No 1 Ashleigh Barty ook just 66 minutes to dismantle Slovenia’s Polona Hercog, winning 6-1, 6-4 without dropping any service games at Rod Laver Arena.
