Asian Junior Tennis for U-14 boys & girls begins at Jorhat

Asian Juniors, the Asian Ranking Tournament of the Asian Tennis Federation for Boys and Girls U-14 got underway at the Jorhat Tennis Club at Jorhat on 19th August.
In a well organized opening ceremony, DC Jorhat Roshni Aparanji Korati inaugurated the championship where players from countries like Bangladesh, UAE, Hong Kong, Nepal, USA besides hosts India are taking part. Speaking on the occasion, Korati stressed on the need to participate in sports and games for the overall development of an individual and not be carried away by wins and losses. All Assam Tennis Association president Raktim Saikia welcomed the gathering.
Antariksh Tamuly and Ahaan Dhekial caused two major upsets today by defeating the 2nd seed Rohan Patel 6-1, 6-0 and 5th seeded Harisharan Baskaran 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 respectively in the first round.
