Ashpreet wins gold in National Chess tourney

CBSE National chess tourney which was held between 9th November to 12th November at Mount Abu School saw participants from all around the nation doing their moves on the chess board. Gurugram players did particuarly well in the team competition of this tourney. The categories in which this event was distributed was Under-11, 14, 17 and 19 age group. In under-11 Team from Gurugram acquired the title with a hefty margin. All players who won the team title were the students of Amity International School, Sector-43, Gurugram.
Team from Gurugram includes Ashpreet Singh, Sparsh Bisht, Abhinav Singh and Rachit Ved. Team won gold with 10 points to secure the championship trophy. Beside this Ashpreet singh also bagged the Gold in individual category.
Ashpreet was on a clear mission that day, as he along with Sparsh Bisht playing on Board 2 and 3 again won the Gold in Board price.
This tournament was attended by teams from UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar and other 21 teams from around the nation.
Players from Gurugram were coached by Sonu Kumar, who along with Amity principal Dr. Anshu Arora congratulated all the players on winning medals.
