Army organises summer cricket tournament

To provide better opportunities to budding sportsmen, army on Monday started Cricket Tournament at Neel-Batu, here on Monday.
“In all, 32 teams have been registered for the tournament till now making it a grand success,” PRO Defence, Lt Col Devender Anand said.
Army authorities welcomed the players present during the inaugural ceremony at Neel-Batu and stressed on the needful focus on sports and extracurricular activities apart from studies.
“The winning teams and outstanding performances will be facilitated at the culmination of the event which will be conducted on a knockout basis,” Lt Col Anand said adding that the locals appreciated and lauded the efforts made by army in conducting such constructive events for the youth of the region.
