After a day of draws, high-scoring games marked Tuesday in the Under-17 boys’ competition of the 58th Subroto Cup football tournament here with several teams registering easy, one-sided wins.

Army Boys Sports Company set the template with a 11-1 victory against Government Higher Secondary School, Arunachal Pradesh in the morning session and was followed suit by Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya from Manipur, which went one better to pump in a dozen goals without any response against a hapless Coast Guard Public School from Daman & Diu.

For Army Boys, Tony Hundirom got six goals against his name, including a hat-trick, three on either side of the break. The team began its onslaught as early as the 6th minute through M. Haokip and then continued to score at will. Tania Nibe managed to find the equaliser in the 10th minute but if the Arunachal side had any hopes of putting up a fight, that was not to be.

Worchuisin was the star for Navodaya School against Coast Guard PS with four goals while Paominlen, coming on as a substitute, managed to score a hat-trick of his own.

At the new Wellingdon Camp ground, H. Elias Higher Secondary School from Meghalaya continued its winning run with an easy 7-0 win against L.K. Higher Secondary School, Tamil Nadu, Risuk Malngiang scoring thrice.
