Anil Mundhe and Kajal Kumari make their mark on the Carrom Map

Carrom is one of India’s oldest sports and it is slowly getting the fame and recognition it deserves. Recently, the 10th Maharashtra State Ranking Prize Money Carrom tournament was organised at Shivaji Park Gymkhana.

There was a twist in the tale in the men’s category as Third seed Anil Mundhe of Pune emerged on top. Mundhe beat Zahid Ahmad of Thane 11-25, 25-10, 25-15 in three sets to bag his first title. Defending champion Kajal Kumari got the better of second seed Ayesha Mohd 25-14, 25-8 in straight sets to bag the title. The organisers awarded 21,000rs to Mundhe and 7,500rs to Kumari.
