All India junior badminton: Rohan & Tasnim in finals

Top seeds Rohan Gurbani and Tasnim Mir reached the boys’ and girls’ U-19 singles finals, respectively, on the fifth and penultimate day of the Yonex-Sunrise All India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament at the Sector 38 Sports Complex in Chandigarh, yesterday.
Gurbani rallied from a game down to beat 16th seed Pranay Katta of Rajasthan 19-21 21-10 21-10 in the semifinals.
In the final, he will face Haryana’s Ravi. The second seed registered a 21-16 21-19 win over seventh seed Rithvik Sanjeevi in the semis.
Earlier, in the quarterfinals, Gurbani prevailed 17-21 21-14 21-14 over eighth seed Abhinn Vasisth, while Katta overcame 13th seed Gautam Walia 18-21 21-16 21-15. Ravi registered 19-21 21-13 21-9 win over Saneeth DS and Sanjeevi downed Pranav Rao Gandham 16-21 21-16 21-19.Tasnim, meanwhile, defeated fourth seed Deepshikha Singh 21-19 17-21 21-11 in the only girls’ U-19 singles semifinal match played yesterday.
