Second seed Agnivesh Bhardwaj of Haryana outplayed Abhijeet Verma 6-0 6-0 to storm into the boys’ U-18 quarterfinals at the ongoing Roots AITA CS(7) National Rankings Championship today.
Top seed Harmanjeet Singh also easily reached the final-eight stage by defeating Dhruv Beotra of Chandigarh 6-1 6-1. Daksh Khokhar defeated Aaditya Junewal 6-2 6-4, while Punjab’s Gurnoor Singh defeated Satvik Singla of the city 6-2 6-0.
Pratham Kotak of Gujarat marched ahead by defeating Daksh Kapoor 7-6(4) 6-3 and Maharashtra’s Svarmanyu Singh ousted Suryansh Nagar 6-2 6-1. Another Maharashtra player Mahatma Diyaan Chheda defeated seventh seed Parth Sharma 6-1 3-6 10-4 and Ahaan Dhekial of Uttar Pradesh defeated Anant Gupta 6-2 6-1.
In a boys’ U-16 pre-quarterfinal, Maharashtra’s Diyaan Chheda upset top seed Chiradeep Majumdar of West Bengal by registering a straight set 6-3 6-0 win. Eighth seed Gundeep Singh defeated Punjab’s Nishchey Dawra 6-2 6-3 and second seed Parth Sharma ousted Haryana’s Prabhav Sibbal 6-2 6-3.
