9th Kohima TT Championship ends

Three-day long 9th Kohima District Table Tennis championship organised by Kohima Table Tennis Association (KTTA) came to and end at Table Tennis Stadium in Kohima, Nagaland.

In the final match, Seyievilie Seyie outplayed Kevilevor Metha to bag the men’s singles title. Thejavinuo Rio emerged as the champion in women’s singles by beating Zelhouneinuo Rame 4-1. Veteran duo of Lhoulievi Belho and James Liezietsu bagged the title in men’s doubles and Kevilevor Metha and Seyievilie Seyie in second position.

Lhoulievi Belho and James Liezietsu also took the veterans doubles title and Vikuo Metha and Vitho Neikha as the runners-up. James Liezietsu won the veterans singles and Vitho Neikha as runners-up. In youth singles (under -21), Metevito Kintso emerged as winner by beating Ihubuing Haikube and in sub-juniors (under -14), Gideon Liezietsu bagged the first position followed by Joshua Liezietsu and Zekhotsolie Josiah Belho in second and third positions.

Earlier, district sports officer, Youth & Sports Resources, Chubarenla Longchari graced the closing ceremony as special guest and gave away the awards to the winners.
