6th standard Paromita bagged 1st position in Inter School Students’ Chess Championship

Paromita Barua, a 6th standard student of Cambridge School bagged the 1st position in Inter School Students’ Chess Championship. They won the title in U – 11. The competition ended on April 28 at the JD Goenka School, Sector-50, Noida. In the Chess Championship, 124 players had participated. Paromita is a resident of sector – 12, she got 4 out of 4 in the competition. She had already taken part in many competitions before this. She was third in the competition. She has also participated in national and international competition. In the competition players from 14 schools including Cambridge, Amity, Bal Bharti, DPS, Lotus Valley, Shivnadar took part.

Paromita has been associated with this game for more than two years. She will also participate in her category in District competition. The competition will be played on 4th and 5th May. District Chess Federation secretary KC Joshi told that Paromita is a good chess player. They are also expecting better performance in the future. Paromita’s mother Nandita Barua said that the daughter is consistently performing well in chess. There is hope for better performance in future also.
