2nd round of Chess competitions culminates

Second round of Chess Competition in both men and women sections of the ongoing J&K UT level Chess Championship-2021, culminated at International Delhi Public School (IDPS) Sunjwan, here today.
In senior open section, three players including Meenal Gupta, Soham Kamotra and Ashutosh Jamwal were leading with two points each, whereas in senior women section, Alankrita Sharma, Arushi Kotwal, Meenal Gupta and Srujanika Gupta were also leading with two points each.
Remaining rounds of the ongoing championship will be played tomorrow at same venue. The event is being organized by All J&K Chess Association under the aegis of J&K Sports Council. All matches were conducted by Vivek Bharti with the help of Arshid Ahmad with Swiss Software as per international rules.
Atul Kumar Gupta, president All J&K Chess Association declared open today’s matches along with general secretary AJKCA Arshid Ahmad and senior vice president AR Wani.
“Many young players from Kashmir valley visited the venue to see the matches of the senior players to learn various tactics. Players highly appreciated the state of art, unique and very beautiful Centre of Chess Excellence, developed by IDPS School,” said Atul Gupta.
