2500 Students will power School-Level Sports Meet

From the very next day of the Independence Day, Gurugram district has decided to organise lavish school-level sports meet in different stadiums of the region. The event will surely offer chance to all the spectators to meet new and energetic sports star from the district.
As per the available information, total 2500 students of different school in U17 and U19 category will showcase their talent in the event commencing from 17th August. District Education Officer Dinesh Shashtri in his statement said that the Annual Sports Calendar for the year has been published and more sports category and opportunities will be offered to the students this year. As per him, total 28 different sports will be played in the duration of 17 August and 13 September as part of the sports event.
Athletes will charge-up from 17th August
The U17 and U19 Archery Championship will be played as part of 3 days event starting from 17th August in the Sector 38 Tau Devi Lal Stadium. More than 500 students from different schools will showcase their aiming skill in this archery competition.
Mark the date 20 August for Hockey and Cricket fest
Jaikabpur’s Rajkiya Mahila Senior Secondary School will host hockey tournament on 20 and 21 August. In addition to this bonanza for the spectators, in between 20 and 28 August Tau Devi Lal Stadium will host cricket tournament. Volleyball matches will entertain audience in between 20 and 25 August in Nehru Stadium.
