14 young shuttlers selected for IDBI final camp

Fourteen young shuttlers have been selected for the final training session for IDBI Federal Quest for Excellence that will be get under way at Pullela Gopichand Academy from Friday.

The 14 selected #YoungChamps will undergo an intensive two weeks of training under the guidance of coach Pullela Gopichand, along with his team of coaches.

The selected players underwent the first round of training under Gopichand and his eminent coaches during the month of May. The training encompassed techniques to enhance their performance, and key routine work-outs, providing them the platform to grow professionally.

Following the first training session, the skills of these #YoungChamps will be further strengthened and refined during the upcoming training session. They will also get the opportunity to interact with the country’s top national and international players at the academy, which will inspire and encourage them to attain their goals.

The two-week training session will lead to the selection of just a handful of budding players who will get the exclusive opportunity to train permanently at the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy through the IDBI Federal Quest For Excellence #YoungChamps programme.

The young champs are: Naishaa Kaur Bhatoye (Mumbai), D. Anudheep (Hyderabad), Sakshi Prakash (Dubai), R Sphoorty (Hyderabad), Vansh Dev (New Delhi), Showrya Kiran (Hyderabad), Shanay Patel (Ahmedabad), Sai Praavin S (Coimbatore), A Bhavesh Reddy (Telangana), Pawan Suresh (Karnataka), Tushit Kejriwal (Odisha), Abhinav Garg (Bengaluru), Riyan Malhan (Dubai) and Charan Simha Reddy (Hyderabad).

Gopichand said the Indians have emerged as champions in various international tournaments in recent years. “The #YoungChamps initiative of IDBI Federal Life Insurance will help in identifying the next crop of youngsters who can carry forward this winning trend. All the 14 players have shown the potential to be champions in the future, and this upcoming training session will be utilised to provide them with the expertise to hone their skills further.”
