What should be my Yoga diet plan?
Yoga diet is complemented by food that is nutritious and benefits the body rather than harming it. It lays stress on consumption of Sattvic foods that help to maintain harmony and balance between mind and body.
Yoga diet excludes consumption of fish, meat, eggs or poultry. As per Yoga body’s need for proteins, minerals and vitamins can be fulfilled without them.
Thus, yoga diet comprises of fresh, simple and nutritious food items that are-
- Fruits and Vegetables
- Dairy Products (no eggs)
As per Yoga all diets are divided into three types of food Sattvic, Rajasic and Tamasic foods.
Consumption of Sattvic foods that help to maintain harmony and balance between mind and body and comprise of fruits and vegetables, ground foods and sun foods.
Consumption of Rajasic food help to work and live in the world and include stimulating herbs and spices and most of the earth foods
Tamasic food which makes a person disoriented and comprises of alcohol, drugs, eggs, meat and fish and should exclusively be avoided.
