National Level Science Talent Search Examination is the most popular Assessment exam among the students of India. It is a diagnostic test that measures how well a student understands the concept of Mathematics & Science and also gives them detailed feedback to help them improve.

Eligibility - Students of class 2-12, 11th and 12th students of both PCM and PCB are eligible but there is no exam for XI, XII PCMB group. Students from any of these cities India, Tanzania, UAE, KSA, Yeman, Oman, Iran, Qatar, Kuwait, Indonesia and Nepal can participate in Unified Council's flagship offering National Level Science Talent Search Examination (NSTSE).

Syllabus and Exam Pattern - NSTSE follows the CBSE syllabus. For each class there are separate question paper  and the exam is in English language. There are objective type questions of one mark each and no negative marking for wrong answers. NSTSE exam is of about 90 minutes.

For Class 2 : Number of questions 50, Mathematics 25, Science 25, Total marks 50.

For Class 3 : Number of question 75,Mathematics 40, Science 35, Total marks 75.

For Class 4 & 5 : Number of questions 100, Mathematics 45, Science 45, General Questions 10, Total marks 100.

For Class 6-10 : Number of questions 100, Mathematics 25, Physics 25, Chemistry 20, Biology 20, General questions 10, Total marks 100.

For Class 11 & 12 (PCB / PCM) :  Maths/Biology 40, Physics 25, Chemistry 25, General questions 10, Total marks 100.

Exam Structure - NSTSE is conducted in Two Levels: First Level will be conducted in the selected test centers. The list of selected cities of India are Bangalore, Bareilly, Bhubaneswar + Cuttack, Chandigarh + Mohali + Panchkula, Chennai, Faridabad + Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Jalandhar, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kanpur, Kota, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nasik, Noida + Ghaziabad, Pune, Varanasi, Yamuna Nagar + Karnal + Ambala + Kurukshetra, Vadodara and Visakhapatnam. Second Level for the Top-500 students (Class 2-12) is held across the nation and for Top-20 students from each class will be conducted in the nearest selected State Head Quarters/Main Towns.

Exam Fee - The exam fee is Rs.200.
