What is plant Intercropping?
Plant intercropping is a practice of multiple cropping in which two or more crops are grown closely.
Intercropping is targeted to make the maximum use of resources that are wasted on a single crop to produce a larger yield of crops on a given land.
The concept of intercropping is so planned that crops that are grown do not compete with each other for physical space, nutrients, water or sunlight and can grow into healthy plants.
Intercropping is carried out in variety of ways such as row cropping, temporal intercropping, mixed intercropping and relay cropping.
