What are the advantages of planting YUCCA in my garden ?
YUCCA has boldly striped green and creamy yellow sword-like leaves topped by tall spikes of fragrant, ivory white blooms. They are grown mainly for their architectural foliage and bold flower spikes. Yucca is a medicinal plant native to Mexico and the Southwestern US.
Medicinal Benefits : Yucca was used widely in preparation of medicine due to it's anti-arthritic and anti-inflammatory effects which helps in the treatment of both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. The plant contains several physiologically active phytochemicals. It is a rich source of steroidal saponins, and is used commercially as a saponin source. The steroidal saponins in yucca are used in the production of synthetic steroid drugs. These phytosterols work with the natural immune functions of the body, and assist the body in using and producing these steroid related hormones. It's anti-inflammatory properties have anti-tumor properties that may be important in further cancer research. It is also helpful in the treatment of Arthritis, Pet, Rheumatoid arthritis.
