What accessories should I provide my kid for Kathak training?
The costumes of Kathak Dancers is similar to that shown in Muslim paintings of ancestral dancers in their court. Traditionally they wore a ghagra, choli and a veil.
But in modern times the dress has been modified and now dancers wear angarkha and churidar pajama.
If you want to make your child learn Kathak one of the basic accessories he/she has to necessarily be equipped with are a pair of ankle bells i.e. ghunghuroos.
If your daughter is learning Kathak she has to be dressed in either a churidar pajama and angarkha, lehenga or even a saree draped as a lehenga with a veil, dupatta or brocade half cap as per her convenience.
If your son is interested in Kathak he can wear a pajama with a waist coat with a chest belt full of gold and sparkle.
Jewelry that the dresses are highlighted with are ornaments made of gold and silver for head, arms, hands, fingers, waist and feet.
