From which country has Salsa originated?
Salsa a popular dance form that involves rhythmic movement of the upper body where arms and shoulder along with hips sway to music or beats with coordination of foot work.
Some theories consider Salsa to have originated in New York and some go with its origination in Cuba. Though it came into prevalence in 1950’s to 1970’s.
It is said that Salsa is a combination of Cuban dance forms like Mambo, Cha Cha Cha, Son, Son Montuno thus is a dance form that comes from Cuba.
Other theory goes with Salsa having originated in New York. It is believed that Salsa is a new dance form that has been created by a fusion of various Cuban or Latin American dances and since this new dance was given shape in New York, NY is its originating country.
Though each country has its own way of performing Salsa. In the New York Salsa style, the dancers remain in front of one another and switch places whereas in the Cuban Salsa, the dance take almost three circles around each other.
